Upon landing, law enforcement officers from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office were waiting at the scene. They promptly apprehended Montgomery, securing him and ensuring that no further harm could be inflicted. Montgomery's injuries were given immediate attention, and he was taken for medical treatment. The extent and nature of his wounds were not disclosed, but it was evident that he required urgent care.

Meanwhile, the flight attendant who was caught in the horrifying chokehold was treated with minor injuries. Deputies at the scene reported two cuts on her person, but she received on-site treatment, and her wounds were deemed non-life-threatening.

In the aftermath of the incident, Delta Airlines issued a statement confirming the events that took place on the flight. They expressed their zero-tolerance policy for unruly behaviour on their aircraft and in their airports, emphasizing that the safety and security of their people and customers are of paramount importance.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office revealed that this was the third arrest at the airport that week, but this particular case stood out due to the significant altercation with a flight crew.

An investigation into the motive and circumstances behind Montgomery's disruptive behaviour is ongoing as the authorities seek to understand the full extent of the incident. Delta Airlines confirmed the incident and spoke of its zero-tolerance policy for unruly behaviour on its aircraft.

A statement from the airline read: "Delta flight 2432 operating from Atlanta to New Orleans was met by law enforcement personnel upon landing following a reported customer issue onboard. Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior on our aircraft and in our airports. Nothing is more important than the safety and security of our people and our customers."
