EastEnders actress breaks silence over big soap return six years after exit
An EastEnders star has revealed all after the news they are returning to the BBC soap after six years away. Actress Angela Wynter confirmed her big comeback to Walford, as she teased what was ahead on the show.
Her character Yolande Trueman will head back to Albert Square with some news for her ex-husband Patrick Trueman, leaving him stunned. Actress Angela is reprising the role for the first time since 2017, when she made a surprise comeback. Prior to this, Yolande left Walford for good in 2008 and moved to Birmingham, where she has remained for the last 15 years. Yolande will now return, in a surprise visit to Patrick.
Now, actress Angela has revealed all about what brings Yolande back, and what her future may look like. Teasing whether her and Patrick will reunite for good, the actress spilled on her big comeback. She said: "It’s really nice. I love the character. I’m really pleased to get the chance to play her again. There’s so many new faces, but I have been welcomed back so wonderfully."

We have a lovely time filming, and I’m looking forward to exploring their relationship, especially as an older woman now. I’m looking forward to exploring seeing if they can grow old together, where the gentleness is, where the fragility is.
"It’s nice to show an older, loving and sometimes sassy couple growing older together. I’m interested in the family dynamic and how Yolande will fit into the family and the larger community outside the family. I don’t think she’s ever not had feelings for Patrick.

"I think she’s always loved him and thought she was going to greener pastures with Anton, but the greener pastures have failed her. She’s realising that Patrick is the true love of her life, and he loved her honestly and truly. So in older age, Yolande wants to rekindle that with someone she can actually count on."
When Yolande returns she reveals things have ended with her partner and she's been thrown out of the house. She asks Patrick if she can stay with him but he rejects the idea. Kim Fox urges Patrick to fight for his ex, with him confessing just months ago that he wanted to win her back. Denise then begs Patrick to take the chance to tell Yolande how much he cares before she leaves forever.
Patrick is torn as he must decide whether to confess his feelings for the love of his life, or let her go back to Birmingham and a man she doesn't love. Yolande and Patrick go to the laundrette to talk, where they consider whether they are each other's future. But will Yolande stay and will she and Patrick finally reunite?
