Police say they are getting increasingly worried about a teenager who has not been seen for nearly two weeks since vanishing on the last day of school.

Michael Tilcock, 14, was last seen at his home address in Luton before noon on Friday 21 July. Bedfordshire Police believe he was last been spotted in the Hockwell ring area of Luton.

The teenager may have travelled to London, and has been described as around 5’4”, with short brown hair and is believed to be wearing a grey tracksuit. He also wears glasses, detectives said on Thursday. He also may have his bike with him.

Residents on the road where he was last seen are now being urged to check any CCTV or Ring doorbell footage they may have as detectives ramp up the search. The force has also released a second picture of Michael in the hopes it will spark new leads on his whereabouts.

Detective Inspector Katherine Rivers, from Bedfordshire Police, said: “Michael has now been missing for 10 days and we are becoming increasingly worried about him. We have a dedicated team of officers working to find Michael, but we are now asking for the public’s support.

“Today, we are releasing a new image of Michael without his glasses in the hope that it may help to find him. If you have seen him or have any information that may help our investigation, no matter how small, then please contact us so we can bring him home safely.”

Superintendent Hob Hoque, from the force, said on Tuesday that the past few days had been an "agonising time" for Michael's family. Addressing the public, the officer said: "It was the last day [before] the summer holidays and Michael was last seen in the Hockwell area of Luton.

"Since that time Michael has not been seen and we are exceptionally worried for his health and safety." Speaking directly to the youngster, he added: "Michael, we're concerned for your welfare and well-being. We'd really ask if you're watching this to make contact with Bedfordshire Police - contact someone on 101.

"It's been an agonising time for your friends and family. I want you to return home safe and well. Please contact us once again. If any members of the public have seen Michael out and about or within the Hockwell area, or Luton, please contact us."
