Harry Styles' mother Anne slams cruel body shamer who branded her 'very heavy'

Harry Styles' mother Anne Twist shut down a troll on social media who body shamed her on a recent picture she shared with her fans. The 55-year-old children's author shared a series of snaps showcasing what she's been up to over the last month but, one observer used the opportunity to leave an unpleasant comment.

In one image, Anne looked fabulous as she attended a friend's wedding while sporting a mint green silk dress. When one fan commented: "That green dress on you Anne!" a troll cruelly replied: "That can't be a recent pic because she looked very heavy in Italy." Several followers were quick to leap to Anne's defence and the global pop star's mother replied: "It's a July pic. I'm sorry you feel the need to comment on my weight!'

Earlier this year, Anne opened up about her relationship with her One Direction star son and podcaster daughter Gemma. She said: "Oh yes, we're all close, it's just geography. We all see each other when we can." On whether fame has changed her Watermelon Sugar singer son, she told Mail Online: "He’s just the same as he has always been. As a very little boy, he was very much like he is now, just a smaller version."

The superstar's mum went on to praise both her children's work ethics and added: "I’m very proud of both Harry and his older sister Gemma and the adults they’ve become. They’re both really hard-working, they’ve got good morals and they’re really kind people. I know it sounds like a dreadful cliché but as long as they’re happy, that’s the most important thing."

Anne was married to Harry and Gemma's father, Desmond, but, they divorced when the One Direction star was seven. She had a brief marriage to businessman John Cox before subsequently marrying Robin Twist in 2013. Harry, who was aged 19 at the time, was best man at their wedding but, tragically Robin died four years later, aged 57, after being diagnosed with cancer. Anne previously revealed she has had a partner for the last three years but has chosen to keep his name out of the spotlight.
