Going on holiday should ideally be a relaxing break away from the responsibilities of your everyday life, but all too often, "sunbed wars" around the pool can lead to plenty of unnecessary stress. Luckily, there is a way to sit the battle out completely, as demonstrated by one very clever holidaymaker.

In a video shared to TikTok, content creator Laura Jayne Lowe confessed that she had felt that her "anxiety is going to ruin [her] holiday", as she was becoming so concerned about not getting a sunbed.

Mum Laura then went on to admit that she hadn't really read the reviews properly for the resort she'd booked and only found out later that it was notorious for having "the worst sunbed war you've seen in your life".

She explained: "I mean, it's all gated off and all that s***. The beds are all chained up until the guy comes and takes them out at half eight, and then it's like everyone runs. But I don't mean you have to go down there like 10 minutes before and queue. I mean, people are apparently queuing from like half five and six in the morning, or you do not get a sunbed."

With this stress-inducing scenario in mind, Laura decided to prepare early with a nifty, and very easy-to-follow, hack, and some impressed followers have hailed it as "genius".

Giving followers a glimpse of her handy purchase, Laura revealed: "I ordered a portable sun lounger. Am I an absolute d******* or an absolute genius? I do not know. Let me tell you, it weighs 2kg, barely anything. It's inflatable, so it can go completely flat in my case. And as long as I take an air pump, which I have anyway, you can suck air out and you can put it back in, no problem, and it's no bigger than a lilo to carry down to the pool."

31-year-old Laura then went on to show just how well her portable lounger fit inside her suitcase, before testing it out to double check there weren't any punctures.

The sun lounger Laura went for appears to be from Bestway, which stocks a number of pool and beach accessories. One lounger is currently reduced to £17.99 from £27.99 in the brand's summer sale.

Many followers have loved Laura's hack, with one person commenting: "Genius. I'm actually tempted to get one. I hate sun bed wars when I'm on holiday, I ain't getting up at 6 am!"

Another wrote: "Haha I don't blame you genius I say."

A third person said: "Hahaha you are a genius girl."
