A Wild West-style mass brawl broke out in a pub beer garden – with a video of the incident now going viral on social media.

The ticketed 'brunch' event at the Pointing Dog in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, descended into chaos on Saturday evening, with footage showing men punching, kicking and pushing each other. Some people were seen standing on tables as others attempted to calm the situation, with glasses heard smashing.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed officers were called at around 8pm, with the fight "broken up" and the group "dispersed". It has not yet been confirmed whether arrests were made.

Event bosses Dusk 7 admitted they "got some things wrong" in a statement on social media, adding: "Lessons have and will be learned." A statement said: "I'll start by thanking each person who has supported Dusk 7 over the last year. It's thanks to you all that we have built something so successful and for that I am so grateful.

"Having said that I do recognise that we may have become too big too soon and yesterday has shown me that clearly. I will be the first to take responsibility. Pointing Dog as a venue choice was unquestionable after the success of our debut event last year. I am however aware of the service issues which were out of my control.

"A hell of a lot of time and effort goes into these events, but on this occasion we accept that we got some things wrong so please accept my apologies. We pride ourselves on providing good music in a safe environment, we cut no corners on the production side of things and always try to put your enjoyment as a priority.

"This is all about creating the best party we can. Each and every event we have held previously has lived up to this ethos and we ask that you please do not judge us on the actions of a minority yesterday. We will be taking time out the next few days to reset and re-evaluate and figure how to move forward to come back stronger. Lessons have and will be learned. To all the core good dusk followers I ask you to keep the faith, we will put this right."

A GMP spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: "At around 8pm on Saturday 29 July, officers were called to reports of a fight on Grove Lane, Cheadle. The fight was broken up and the group was dispersed."

The Mirror has contacted brewery JW Lees for comment. The pub was bought by the Middleton-based brewery from Marston's earlier this year. Bosses pumped £300,000 into a refurbishment before it was reopened on July 14.
