Emmerdale aired another surprise exit this evening following on from the tragic death of Rishi Sharma last week as Bhasker Patel bowed out of the soap after 12 years

Emmerdale aired another surprise exit this evening after Rishi Sharma's shocking death aired last week.

Rishi – played by Bhasker Patel – died in tragic scenes last week, leaving his son Jai devastated as they had yet to make up after the bombshell surrounding the true identity of Jai's father. Rishi revealed to Jai that his dad was actually Rishi's brother, leaving him devastated and he told him not to attend his wedding.

Groom Jai later had a change of heart and Georgia called him to join them there, unbeknownst that he was already dead at the bottom of the stairs. Tonight on the ITV soap, a second sudden exit from the same family was aired.

Georgia departed the Dales tonight

On tonight's show, Laurel said: "Are you sure you're gonna be ok travelling back down on your own?" whilst Georgia added: "I'll be alright love and it's for the best, Priya needs me and so does Amba. And you two need your own space."

"I'm really sorry, I wasn't blunt before was I?" Laurel said as she hugged Georgia, who replied to her before looking over to Jai: "It's been stressful, for everyone. It's nice to know he'll be well looked after too."

As she bid farewell to the rest of the family, Suni arrived to wave his auntie off. "It's good for you to see me off Suni and keep an eye on this lot for me." She gave a final hug to her son Jai before heading away from the Dales in a taxi.

Fans have been theorising that Priya could make a huge return to the village for Rishi's funeral or cremation. Fiona Wade – who played Priya – departed the ITV soap earlier this year and fans are now convince Priya could come back, possibly alongside Rishi's brother.

Rishi died in shock scenes last week

Jai actor Chris Bisson previously admitted it was tough filming those scenes. "It’s like when they say about taking your work home with you. If you have had a long emotional day of scenes when you've been upset all day you don’t just switch off when they shout cut. It takes a little bit of time to acclimatise, come back down and get your head straightened back to normality. You need a bit of headspace after a day like that," he said.

"It does feel very strange without him. Every time I walk past what was his dressing room I think about popping my head in to see how he’s doing. So it is strange when he isn’t there. Twelve years is a long time. And over the years we’ve had some great stories and have had a lot of fun too. Bhasker and I got on really well personally so that makes a big difference and the loss even greater."
