Liverpool have been very active in the transfer market this summer and plenty more incomings and outgoings are expected.

Club captain Jordan Henderson has completed a controversial move to Saudi Arabia, while James Milner, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all departed on free transfers. The signings of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have strengthened Jurgen Klopp's squad, but the Liverpool boss knows more signings are needed.

"We have to do something, that is clear," Klopp said. "We are working on solutions. First people want changes, now everyone is worrying about the changes. We are really optimistic about it. Excited as well." Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest news lines from around Anfield.

Chelsea 'in Mbappe talks'

Chelsea have entered into negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for Kylian Mbappe.

According to the Daily Record, Todd Boehly has held direct talks with PSG counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi over a player-plus-cash deal for Mbappe. PSG are looking to offload the forward this summer after he refused to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes.

Fabinho 'undergoes Saudi medical'

Fabinho has been heavily linked with a £40m move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad and he has now undergone a medical, according to the Daily Mail.

The Brazilian flew out to Dubai to finalise the move on Friday and is said to have agreed a three-year deal with Al-Ittihad. The impending move means he is now set to line up alongside the likes of N'Golo Kante and Karim Benzema next season.

Fabinho has spent five seasons at Anfield, having joined from Monaco in 2018, and racked up more than 200 appearances while helping Liverpool lift the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Community Shield.

Liverpool prepare new Lavia bid

Following Henderson's move to Al-Ettifaq and with Fabinho on the verge of joining Al-Ittihad, Liverpool are set to ramp up their interest in Romeo Lavia.

The Reds have already had an opening bid for the midfielder rejected by Southampton, who value the 19-year-old at around £50m. And the Daily Mail are reporting that Liverpool are now 'poised to make a second bid'.

Lavia is Klopp's first choice to replace Henderson and Fabinho and could form an entirely new-look midfield with Szoboszlai and Mac Allister. However, Saints boss Russell Martin has insisted Lavia "may still be here" once the transfer window slams shut in September.
