Jane Fonda stood in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA and WGA members on strike outside Netflix studios in Los Angeles on Friday.

The veteran actress, 85, took to the strike to deliver a rallying message to the creatives in attendance. She walked along the picked line as she offered her support to those striking and wore a "SAG AFTRA STRONG shirt". Jane also opted for cream sun hat in a bid to protect herself from the rising temperatures stateside.

In one instance, however, it seemed as though the heat had got the better of the Book Club star as she was helped off stage and forced to take a rest in a chair. She was pictured with her head in her hands and appeared to be receiving support from those around her as she recuperated. Temperatures in the region reached highs of 92 degrees (33.3c).

Prior to her rest she rallied the crowd, saying: "These workers aren't asking for that much, I mean come on. They are simply calling for a safe, secure, and respectful workforce with a living wage. And the right to organise free from fear, intimidation and coercion."

Her words were met with rapturous applause and cheer from those in attendance. The SAG-AFTRA Twitter account also tweeted the speech to their followers, writing: "Jane Fonda knows what’s up. While at today’s Starbucks Workers United rally, Jane ensured executives heard her voice: “A LIVING WAGE!"

Many famous faces have joined the picket lines and voiced their support for the cause, including Kevin Bacon and Jason Sudeikis.

Jane's appearance comes after she revealed in December last year her cancer was in remission. The Hollywood star received the happy news ahead of her 85th birthday next week and described it as "the best birthday present ever," adding that she feels "so blessed".

In a lengthy blog post on her official website, she wrote at the time: "Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo. I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news."

She went on to open up on the gruelling treatments she had faced, including chemotherapy.
