Sam Smith showed off their new handlebar moustache while topping off their tan in the blistering heat in Georgia, USA.

The Unholy singer is enjoying a little break from bright lights and arenas as they visited a lake ahead of their concert at Gas South Arena in Duluth. Sam took to their Instagram page to share a selection of photos from the trip.

"Georgia," the 31-year-old simply captioned the photos, which included one of them facing away from the camera as they stood knee-deep in the water while enjoying the view.

Sam rocked black swim shorts and no shirt as they posted a close-up snap of the water as well as a short clip of a little snake minding its business.

The final photo from the carousel was a selfie showcasing their impressive handlebar moustache and facial hair and short bleached-blonde locks.

Fans rushed to the comment section to compliment the singer and express their excitement for Sam's upcoming tour dates in the States.

One user said: "The stache is everything," while another commented: "Beautiful Sam, glad you are enjoying your time off."

"Can’t wait to see you in nyc bby," one excited fan posted and another added: "Gorgeous Sam. Always surrounded by nature... but the snake.. oh my look out!! ily Sam."

Sam kicked off their North American tour in Miami earlier this week and will be performing in Philadelphia, Washington, Boston, New York, Houston and more before heading to South America and then Asia.

Their long-awaited return to the stage comes after Sam was forced to cancel the rest of their UK tour following problems with their vocal cords. Sam even risked losing their voice completely.

They cancelled their show in Manchester at the last minute, and later issued a statement confirming “something was really wrong” with their voice, and doctors had demanded they rest otherwise they’d be at risk of “permanent damage” to their vocal cords.

“Doctors have advised due to a vocal cord injury, Sam must have complete vocal rest,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

“Sam is heartbroken to have had to cancel these shows but they have been told by doctors that if they keep singing, they will do permanent damage to their voice. If they take some rest they will be able to perform again,” they added.
