Call of Duty is celebrating 50 years of hip-hop music with the release of season five of Modern Warfare II and Warzone. To celebrate, the game is including various War Track packs with soundtracks filled with the genre and introduces some world-famous rappers to play as.

The shooter-style video game series announced on Twitter that in the upcoming season, you can now play as three new operators - Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, or 21 Savage. Nicki's character dons pink hair, blue eyeshadow, and silver hoop earrings among other jewellery. In true Barbie fashion, her gun is bright pink. She's the first female rapper to receive her own operator skin in a major video game.

Snoop Dogg is dressed in a gold and white jumpsuit with a few marijuana leaf designs on it. His gun is blue and gold, which could be a reference to the Los Angeles Rams football team colours or the blue symbolises the Crip gang that the rapper used to be a part of.

His gun has his name on it, written in its traditional logo, and the gun is littered with marijuana leaf designs. The Gin and Juice rapper has previously appeared in a pack for Call Of Duty: Ghosts.

21 Savage's character seems to still be a mystery, as the only released photo shows a silhouette of the character. There's no word on when his full-character look will be released.

Fans have taken to Twitter after the news, some excited to play the video game "not knowing anything" but just because their favourite rappers are featured. Some Nicki fans are posting the gif of Jennifer Coolidge in The White Lotus shooting a gun with her eyes closed and with reckless abandon.

This isn't the first time rappers have appeared in video games. 50 Cent released his own video game titled, 50 Cent: Bulletproof in which the gamer plays as the Candy Shop rapper searching for vengeance against those who tried to murder him.

There was also a series of Def Jam video games, where players could fight rappers such as DMX or Ludacris. Snoop Dogg was previously featured in some of the games playing the antagonist, Crew.
