Katie Holmes was seen around New York City

Katie Holmes was snapped out-and-about in New York City this week wearing a cute athletic wear outfit. She was seen on what appeared to be a casual stroll as she made the most of the soaring temperatures.

For her outing, Katie wore green joggers, which she paired with a black, cami crop-top, which exposed most of her stomach. She paired some white Adidas trainers with her dressed-down look.

During her walk, Katie carried with her a CH Carolina Herrera Fusta Hobo bag on one shoulder. In addition to the outfit, Katie accessorised her look with some jewellery and a pair of sunglasses.

Her three necklaces were layered with one silver chain resting lower than the others. For earrings, she kept the silver theme up with metallic hoops. Katie's sunglasses were clear.

She opted for an effortless chic look in the hair stakes, throwing her brunette hair up into a high, messy ponytail.

Previously, Katie had been spotted in a Los Angeles airport with her daughter, Suri. The most recent outing comes following Katie opening up about protecting her daughter in April.

She told Glamour magazine: “What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her.”

Not only is Katie being kept away from the public, but she isn't seeing her father, Tom Cruise, either. Katie was granted full custody of her daughter, but Tom is still required to pay $400,000 (£310,000) a year in child support. Suri, however, has not publicly been seen with her father since 2012.

A source told the Daily Mail : "Suri does not know her father anymore and she has not spent time with him in a decade. She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life."

Tom Cruise has admitted that part of this estrangement is a result of his involvement with The Church of Scientology which does have buildings in New York City.

During a deposition, Tom was asked if Katie had ended their relationship "in part to protect Suri from Scientology" to which he responded at the time, "That was one of the assertions, yes."

Katie and Suri have no known ties with Scientology since Suri reportedly stopped attending a Scientology-influenced school.
