Viewers of BBC's Bargain Hunt have been forced to turn the daytime TV programme off due to one presenter's habit.

Presenter Danny Sebastian was hosting from Harrogate in Yorkshire but viewers found his accent was turning them off from their usual favourite programme with hidden treasures and bargains.

The episode, which aired on Thursday 20 July, had viewers struggling with Danny's strong accent to the point it was making viewers switch the programme off.

Sharing their frustration on social media as the programme aired, some viewers even branded the presenter's speeches to camera as "rubbish" and even forced them to change the channel.

One viewer wrote on Twitter: "do mention to #dannysebastian if you have a moment that the words are “SHOPPING” not “SHOPPIN” and “HERE” not “EAR” #bargainhunt #properenglish."

Another echoed their thoughts as they shared: "Free hundred pannhs and have to buy free items. Why can't people enunciate? I'm out. Bye. #BargainHunt."

""I might have, at one point, considered going on #BargainHunt. Now that competitors apparently have to demonstrate an excess of personality, there’s no chance. I couldn’t do all that gurning at the camera declaring I’m in it to win it," said a third.

A fourth wrote: "#bargainhunt what is Danny an expert in? #rubbish."

"If Danny spends more than a tenner on his bonus buy I will be in shock. #bargainhunt," shared a fifth.

The programme saw presenter Danny joined by experts Izzie Balmer and John Cameron to seek out profitable antiques in Harrogate, as well as visits to its famous tea rooms and to learn about a vintage teapot collection.

Visiting the famous Betty's Cafe Tea Rooms, Danny shared an interesting fact for viewers as he said: "Is there anything more comforting than the humble cup of tea? There's many places to get a cuppa in Harrogate - but Bettys have served customers for over 100 years."

He highlighted the venues 600 teapots as he continued: "It's a vast collection and they're all different shapes, sizes, probably values. They've got the art deco theme - the 1930s, that type of period.

"They're rare and we're lucky they match."

This isn't the first time Bargain Hunt has focused on teapots after one tea vessel earlier this year fetched a whopping £400,000 at auction in March.

The antique in question - which was later described by an auctioneer as "very sacred, very important and very rare" - was yellow and featured colourful floral designs on it, and would have been used by the court of Emperor Qianlong in the 18th century.
