Bake Off star Sandro's nerve-racking journey to get cake to huge Hollywood star

Since capturing the nation's attention on The Great British Bake Off last year, Sandro Farmhouse has been rubbing shoulders with The Weeknd and chatting with Hollywood actress Elizabeth Banks over on Instagram, but the culinary pin-up and celebrity cake maker still has one major star he's keen to meet.

"Nicki Minaj is my dream customer," Sandro quickly revealed when quizzed about his wish-list of celebrity customers. "If I ever see her, I will walk up to her and tell her 'I will make a cake for you, your husband, your son... and you don't need to pay - I will fly all the way to the States! No-one turns down a free cake - that's my angle!"

As a self-confessed member of the Barbz community - the name given to Nicki's loyal fanbase - it's no surprise Sandro wants the Starships singer, 40, on the guestlist for his imaginary dream dinner party. The 30-year-old baker and activist recently teamed up with Croft Sherry to help create the perfect summer spritz.

Sandro - whose sherry-based beverage "aims to bring some sunshine to al fresco events" - certainly knows how to throw a party, but exactly who would make the final guestlist? "It has to be Nicki Minaj - I'm obsessed - or Beyonce, another one I'm obsessed with," he admitted.

"But if I think realistically, I would invite Mary Barry down. I think she's just so cute. I'd just love to meet her and love to be able to cook for her. So yeah, I wouldn't even invite my friends, it would just be me and Mary - it would be a date," Sandro jokingly added when speaking with the Mirror last month.

Since taking part in the 2022 series of The Great British Bake Off, things have been non-stop for Sandro! The loveable star's inbox is filled with messages from fans and A-list celebrities - including some famous fans want to sample one of Sandro's tasty creations for themselves!

Recalling how making a cake for The Idol actor The Weeknd occured earlier this year, Sandro tells us: "The Weeknd came about as his [team messaged] me on Instagram and I was like 'oh my god'. He invited me to the show and I was like 'I would love to bring something'. At first I was going to bring cupcakes so I went to go see a pal of mine who is amazing at making sculpting cakes - she taught me [what to do] and gave me a quick masterclass and we did it together.

"The Weeknd cake and actually traveled all that cake in a box. Like with my suitcase all the way to Manchester it was four things happening it was the most terrible time to so but I did it anyway and took it down to the concert. He didn't see it but he's on a diet so he can't eat it because he was he's filming for his new series so his personal trainer was like know how to eat cake!"

"The baking part is my safe haven - it's the getting it where it needs to get to that is the worst thing ever because once the project is done, if something goes wrong, you're kind of like: 'well can I do so?' So yeah, that's the difficult part - actually transporting the cake."

He continued: "So many people get in touch. Elizabeth Banks recently messaged me and she's like when you come over to space we're gonna have to do a little something. We DM each other and I have to think 'is this really happening? She's amazing. Recently she tagged me one of her posts so I could connect with someone else. She is so cool and so supportive."

With such an amazing talent and cool energy, it's not hard to see why the Pitch Perfect star is so supportive of The Great British Bake Off legend!
