Schoolboy, 11, gets highest possible IQ test score beating Einstein and Hawking
An 11-year-old boy has scored the highest possible score in an IQ test - a better score than both Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein.
While the notorious geniuses are believed to have scored 160, wonderkid Adrian Li scored 162 on the Mensa IQ test. As a result of being in the top two per cent, Adrian has been offered a membership in the Mensa Society.
Adrian, who lives in Barnet, London, after moving from Hong Kong, ranks in the top one per cent globally.
His mum, Rachel, said he has shown “signs of difference since early childhood”, and that he could read out the word ‘university’ with perfect pronunciation at the age of just two - despite having no clue what the word meant.
With a passion for books since he was two, Rachel said her son reads multiple books every day. “During kindergarten, he started to read the ‘full text’ version of his favourite Star Wars books,” she recalled.

Adrian hopes to become the "best doctor in the world"."Adrian even started to write novels when he was eight years old, which he proudly named the books as the 'Monster Quest' series with exciting adventurous stories. Now he is writing a novel about Ancient Rome for the teenagers to read, hopefully to be published by autumn this year.”
She added that Adrian obtained several academic awards in primary school and enjoys tests and exams "which bring him a sense of achievement and pride".
Adrian is set to enrol at Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet in September, where he hopes to meet boys with similar talents. Aside from his academic prowess, Adrian loves chess, squash, fencing, skiing, table tennis, taekwondo, rowing, and more.
Adrian and his family moved from Hong Kong to Barnet in 2022Adrian himself said: "At first I had only thought about achieving a score of 148 to enter the Mensa IQ society... I had never, ever thought that I would come anywhere near the score of 160 that Einstein had. This has been so, so amazing and emotional for me."
He added: "Perhaps in one day, I might be able to achieve my dream- to become a cardiologist and get a degree from Cambridge and become the best doctor in the world!"
His mum added: "While we are proud of Adrian's natural, gifted abilities, we still emphasise that he has to work hard and to be careful even if he is talented. And we wish that he can choose his own path which goes along with his interest so he can dedicate fully and work out his best way to help society."
