Kylian Mbappe has not travelled with the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain squad on their pre-season tour of Japan and is believed to be up for sale.

The World Cup winner is contracted to the French giants until the summer of 2024, though there is an option to extend by oney year he is not expected to activate. In 2024, if any club were to come in for him they would be able to land Mbappe's signature without having to pay so much as a penny in transfer fees.

As a result, the PSG hierarchy are believed to have come to the decision that they will try and cash in on their superstar forward now to avoid losing him for free in 12 months' time. Just where Mbappe could end up as soon as the end of this summer remains to be seen, however.

With that being said, Mirror Football has identified five potential destinations that Mbappe could deem as an attractive proposition.

Real Madrid

The Spanish giants' interest in Mbappe is by now incredibly well-documented, with the two seemingly destined to join forces sooner rather than later. The summer transfer window of 2021 was dominated by a 'will he, won't he' saga surrounding Mbappe and Real Madrid.

Two years on, there's a chance Mbappe could finally get his wish and line up in the iconic white and gold strip at the Santiago Bernabeu. It is glaringly obvious that Los Blancos are Mbappe's ideal destination, but there could still be some difficulty regarding the switch.

Real Madrid have forked out a significant fee, thought to be around £88million, for Jude Bellingham already this summer. They are not quite the financial force they once were and it seems unlikely that the LaLiga titans will be able to make two marquee signings that would command such a fee in the same window.

Instead, club president Florentino Perez may rather hold fire for another season before securing Mbappe on a free next summer. That is what PSG feel their forward has already agreed and are furious as a result.

Al-Hilal

The number of stars already heading to Saudi Arabia is quite something, but if they managed to land Mbappe it would shake football to its very core.

French outlet Foot Mercato claim that the Saudi government have started the process of putting a deal in place, with Al-Hilal thought to be the club Mbappe would ply his trade for. Regarded as the Saudi Pro-League's top side, they already boast the likes of Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The exact figure that Mbappe would be offered in terms of his wages has not been disclosed, but it is believed to be north of £700,000 per week. It would make Mbappe the highest-paid player in all of football.

Chelsea

The Blues do like to throw their money around, particularly under current owner Todd Boehly, but even Chelsea may wince at how much Mbappe would cost.

RMC claim that Mauricio Pochettino's side have been given the signal to try to strike a deal with the Parisians, which if struck would see Mbappe join forces with a number of his international colleagues, including Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Christopher Nkunku.

The latter could be key in trying to persuade Mbappe given they enjoy a stellar relationship and would line up together as part of what would be a lethal Chelsea attack.

Arsenal

This one might be even more shocking than Al-Hilal to some, but we know how highly the Gunners are thought of in France due to their rich history of iconic Frenchman, from Arsene Wenger to one of Mbappe's idols in Thierry Henry.

Earlier this month, the Independent reported how that while Mbappe was almost certainly out of Arsenal's price range as PSG are rumoured to want around £200m for the forward, the goalscorer does admire the work Mikel Arteta has done at the Emirates.

So much so in fact, that the consensus seems to be that if Mbappe were to make the move to the Premier League, the Gunners would be the France international's preferred destination. He'd surely inherit Henry's iconic number 14 shirt in the process.

Apologise and stay at PSG

It would mean coming back with his tail tucked firmly between his legs, but Mbappe could always hold his hands up, apologise for flirting with Real Madrid and stay put.

Such is the level of his absurd talent, it seems unfathomable that PSG would reject such an apology and they are much more likely to rejoice at such a situation and plan for the future with Mbappe as the centre-point of their Champions League ambitions.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi admitted as much during the unveiling of new boss Luis Enrique, as he claimed: "We want him [Mbappe] to stay but he can't leave for free."
