Style guru Trinny Woodall has confirmed her split with Charles Saatchi, saying: “Life is good, I’m excited by the future.”

Trinny, 59, said she has broken up with the advertising tycoon, 80, after a 10-year relationship.

However, the TV stylist did “not want to delve into any very personal details”.

Reports in March said the couple separated after finding the age gap difficult but this is the first time Trinny has acknowledged the split.

She also praised her daughter Lyla, 19, for her support over the break-up, adding: “I’ve been through some tough times recently but I’m feeling good. Lyla likes to mother me.

“We are pretty close because she doesn’t have a dad. We know we only have each other, so we have to sort stuff out quicker after an argument.

“I had a car accident in LA recently – I’m OK, just a bit bruised. But when I told her she went from zero to hysterical in two seconds. Because for that nanosecond she was hearing, ‘My mother might not be OK.’ It makes our relationship stronger.”

Trinny rose to fame alongside Susannah Constantine in noughties fashion shows like What Not to Wear where they used straight talking to try to improve people’s wardrobes.

It was not unusual for Trinny to make some cry but she admits the harsh advice would not work in 2023.

She tells magazine Woman&Home: “Now it’s suggesting things, rather than telling people what to do. I’ve evolved as a person.”

She still gives people advice on fashion and make-up and says her book Fearless will be a “manual” of all her tips.

But Trinny admits she has had help to stay looking good, adding: “You have to be open about what tweaks you’ve had. I have Botox twice a year.”

* The Woman&Home issue for September is on sale on Thursday and Trinny’s book Fearless will be released on September 14.
