John Amos' daughter says she is 'pleased' following her brother's arrest
Shannon Amos, the daughter of Good Times actor John Amos, has spoken out following the arrest of her brother Kelly 'K.C.' Amos.
The film producer said she is "pleased" that her brother will be "held accountable for his actions" after he was arrested for allegedly sending her death threats.
K.C. was arrested on Saturday in West Orange, New Jersey, after allegedly threatening to kill Shannon "with the purpose to put her in imminent fear of death", according to a complaint.
Shannon claimed that her brother sent her a series of disturbing text messages with pictures of firearms which made her "fear for her life". She said the messages included a video of her brother shooting a handgun.
The arrest comes after John accused his daughter of "elderly abuse".

Shannon Amos said she remains committed to caring for her father (officialshannonamos/Instagram)In a statement following the arrest, Shannon said: "My family and I continue to advocate and fight for the proper care of my father. I am pleased that Kelly is being held accountable for his actions which have put my father's health at risk, and look forward to resolving this matter in private with the proper authorities."
She continued: "Despite false accusations and defamatory statements being made against me, I remain committed to ensuring that he receives the best medical care. John Amos may be known as 'America's Dad', but for me, he is my father."
A representative for Shannon told People: "The family and Shannon are all working together to get John the care he needs.

A complaint filing obtained by the publication shows Shannon claiming her brother sent her a message which read: "Gonna sleep much better tonight big sis," alongside a video of him firing a pistol.
Both K.C. and Shannon have made headlines after their father John claimed he was the victim of "elderly abuse" at the hands of his daughter. The 83-year-old made the allegations against Shannon in a video shared on social media by K.C.
Shannon also claimed on Instagram that she had received a "distressing call" from her father during which he informed her he was in "immense pain" and in an intensive care unit.
She said he was "the victim of elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation" and that she was working with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and local authorities.
John has since disputed her pains and said he was hospitalised for water retention, adding that is has "been corrected".
