I'm quite a fan of pampering myself from time to time - whether it's a hair treatment, a face mask or an evening snuggled up with a book and a nice candle, I am all about it. So it's no surprise that I was horrified when I had an acne breakout seemingly out of nowhere.

Majority of my skincare products are aimed at dry and sensitive skin so I didn't feel equipped to handle the pimples popping up on my cheeks and around my eyebrows. I was familiar with the brand Hey Bud though, and remember them being praised during acne awareness month so I decided to give them a go.

Normally I swear by Avène and Nip+Fab but I decided since my skincare needs had changed that my skincare probably should too. So I reached for the products I'd been hearing all about.

The first thing to get on my radar was the 'Clear as Clay Mask'. I'm normally quite nervous with clay masks as my skin is already quite sensitive, but I decided to give this one a go.

When I put on the face mask the first thing I noticed was how pleasant the smell is and how smoothly it went on. The mask comes with an application brush that I personally think amplifies the entire experience and makes it feel more like a pamper session.

After about ten minutes it starts to dry on your face and you can tell when this happens because it starts to feel much tighter and the colour of the face mask changes to an almost chalky shade. This is when it's time to take it off, I strongly recommend using a face cloth for this as it can be a little bit of a challenge.

After using the face mask I then reach for the Smooth It Over serum which contains niacinamide and Ferulic acid. This promises to clear your complexion and I get the impression it's working, but it is bringing pimples to the surface first. This makes sense as my skin would have to purge anything out first before I can have a totally smooth complexion.

To round of a pampered evening I then use Overnight Sensation which I've personally found to be nourishing and leaves my skin feeling moisturised all night long. This is something I've struggled with in the past so I'm always relieved to find something that works.

Although I have found more spots coming to the surface which can feel like a fresh breakout in itself, I've saw them then leave and stay gone which is exactly what I would want in a product like this. My skin feels smoother afterwards and I feel like I'm actually solving my skincare problems. I'm thrilled with it and think this is definitely going to be my go to when treating acne.
