A couple have said getting cosmetic surgery together in Turkey was the ultimate "bonding experience".

Jack Morris and his girlfriend Assia Riad jetted to Istanbul on July 9 for a nine-day trip for a hair transplant and rhinoplasty, which cost them a combined £4,650.

Their surgeries took place on July 11 and afterwards, the couple were reunited in Assia's hospital ward that night where they shared their dinner.

Assia, 25, opted for a rhinoplasty, which she had dreamt of since she broke her nose at just 16 years old, and knew her boyfriend of five years would come with her anyway to support her.

But 28-year-old Jack decided he may as well undergo a hair transplant while he was there after being concerned about his thinning locks.

The couple posted their trip online with the caption: "If you're looking for a bonding experience for yourself and your partner, I'd highly recommend this."

Assia said: "Going with Jack was literally the best decision ever. I've known for years I wanted to get it done. He was going to come anyway as a companion just to be there for me, so decided he wanted to get his hair done at the same time.

"It was also cheaper to go together as it was part of the package. It was like being on a holiday, it was a beautiful hotel.

"One of the restaurants had an amazing view over the pool and the sea so we spent a lot of time there sitting drinking iced coffee. It was just nice that we had each other.

"When we were lying in bed and when the swelling was really bad if the other person had been completely healthy or able to do things and swimming, it'd be a bit weird.

"One of us would be a bit jealous if they were by the pool or something. We were both in it together so we could help each other at our worst."

The couple decided on the trip as they had both finally settled down together in Berlin after years of travelling, which is how they met while in Australia nearly six years ago.

After they arrived in Istanbul late on July 9, they were taken straight to the hospital for PCR and blood tests.

The rhinoplasty cost Assia £2,400 and Jack's hair transplant was £2,250, including not just their surgeries but transfers and the hotel where they spent the rest of their trip looking after each other while on medication.

Jack said: "We always had the conversation that I'd get my hair done, like going bald just wasn't an option for me.

"No offence to the bald community, there are a lot of great bald men in this world, I just didn't want to join them.

"I wasn't under general anaesthesia for it like Assia. It's a bit weird to be eating a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich while they're putting grafts in your head.

"After it was done, they wrapped me up, bandaged up the back of my head and then had a quick consultation.

"I could have gone back to our hotel but I asked to be put to bed in the room where Assia was. It was nice to see her.

"It was a hilarious sight, to be honest. It was funny to see each other in such a state. We were in it together so it was good.

"We'd both wake up and be in the same boat together, we'd have to take about four pills each. At the start, we were on about 15 pills a day between us.

"Our jokes and the conversations were different. It's weird to call it a bonding experience but it's definitely something we're going to look back on and laugh at."

Since their surgeries, Jack has another 12 months before his hair transplant is fully healed, but Assia, who had her cast taken off his week has surprisingly avoided suffering any bruises and is over the moon with the results.

Assia, who is originally from Germany, said: "For some reason, I have no bruises at all. Even the surgeon, when he took the cast off, he was so shocked I had no bruising.

"At the start, it was really difficult to open my mouth and on the second day, I completely lost my taste and smell because of the swelling.

"After the cast was taken off I could taste and smell again though, and so before we left we had Turkish kebabs as our last meal.

"I'm honestly so excited and happy looking at my own reflection. It's so weird."

Jack admits he could have researched the hair transplant a little more, but neither of them has any regrets and would encourage others to do the same if it would make them feel more confident.

Jack said: "The recovery now for me is a bit sh*t. I didn't do a lot of research into it, I probably watched a few TikTok [videos] and time lapses of recovery.

"The front of my head is a bit red and scabby but I'm aiming for a skin fade in three months. The doctor said in 12 months I'll have a full head of hair.

"Assia is annoyingly fine, She's a medical miracle and will be back within a week but I'll be bald for the foreseeable future.

"If there's something hindering your self-confidence, just go for it. Don't do it just to please your partner though."

Assia's video online racked up over 2 million views, 100,000 likes, and 650 comments.
