Liverpool fans' theory has many convinced Lavia and Thuram are done deals
Some Liverpool supporters are convinced that Romeo Lavia and Khephren Thuram are on their way to Anfield after an outlandish theory surfaced on social media.
Jurgen Klopp and new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke have already overseen a major overhaul of Liverpool's midfield this summer, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai making big money moves after James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all departed on free transfers.
However, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara have also been linked with exits after emerging as big-money targets for Saudi Pro League clubs. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard wants to bring Henderson to Al-Ettifaq, while Al-Ittihad have lodged a £40m bid for Fabinho.
Reports in Spain, meanwhile, have claimed that two unnamed Saudi clubs are interested in Thiago. And should any of those players leave, Liverpool will need to sign replacements.
The Reds have long been linked with both Lavia and Thuram and some fans now believe both players are set to join after a supporter shared details of a private jet which had been tracked on Flightradar24.
Klopp's dream Liverpool line up as last-gasp January transfers rejectedAccording to the popular flight tracking website, the jet in question flew from Nice, where Thuram currently plays his football, to Blackpool on Monday morning with the fan suggesting the flight was redirected from Liverpool. The jet then flew to Southampton, where Lavia plays, before making the trip to Stuttgart.
Stuttgart is the state capital of Baden-Wurttemberg, which is where Liverpool currently are for their pre-season training camp. And some fans think there may be something to the theory, with one writing: "Jorge Schmadtke to Southampton to complete Lavia. Then over to Stuttgart to link up with the squad."
Mirror Football is now on Threads!
"Thuram -> Liverpool Lavia -> Liverpool deal done in Southampton. Off to our training camp in Germany I beg this be the case," wrote a second. While a third added: "Surely can’t be a coincidence that a private jet is going to nice > Blackpool > Southampton > Stuttgart all in one day".
Liverpool are set to play their first pre-season friendly on Wednesday against Karlsruher and they are set to add both Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott to their training squad. The pair have been on international duty with England's under-21's, helping them win the Euros.
Jones in particular starred for Lee Carsley's side and was named in the team of the tournament, alongside his England teammates James Trafford, Levi Colwill, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, James Garner and Anthony Gordon.
