Wigan have confirmed the signing of Catalans star Adam Keighran.

The Australian three-quarter, 26, will join on a two-year deal from 2024. Ex-Sydney Roosters ace Keighran has played at centre, stand-off and hooker, offering plenty of versatility for the current Super League leaders. He has proved a big hit since moving to France from the NRL this term and said: “My family and I are looking forward to the next two years at Wigan.

“I’m eager to continue learning and improving my game under the staff there, learn the history of the club and I’m hoping to add to the success the club already has.”

Wigan head coach Matt Peet said: “We are excited to welcome Adam and his family to Wigan. His form for Catalans has been excellent this season and I look forward to working with him. He will bring athleticism and a high skill level to our back line.”

Meanwhile, Wigan announced yesterday that chairman and co-owner Ian Lenagan will stand down from his role in November. Fellow co-owner Mike Danson will assume 100% control of the club and Professor Chris Brookes, the ex-Great Britain doctor recently appointed vice-chairman, will take the chairmanship.

Danson currently owns 49% of the shares and will purchase the remainder on 1 December. Lenagan has been in control of Warriors since buying the club from Dave Whelan in 2007. Since he took charge, the club has won four Grand Finals, three League Leaders' Shields, three Challenge Cups and a World Club Challenge.
