Apple offers free £130 gift cards to shoppers, check to see if you're eligible

There's good news for some Apple fans wanting an upgrade their laptops and iPads with the US technology giant bringing back its popular student discount deals. Yes, those heading off to university after the summer break can treat themselves to some new gadgets and not only get cheaper prices but also free gift cards worth up to £130. These can then be used to buy accessories or other other products at Apple Stores such as a pair of AirPods or an Apple Pencil.

For example, buy a new iPad Air and Apple will give you a £100 voucher. Switch to a new MacBook Air and you'll get £130.

And that's not all. Other deals for students include 20% off AppleCare+ which offers protection for those shiny new devices along with three months free of Apple Music and Apple TV+ - this is then followed by a discounted rate.

Of course, students also get access to special savings including money off the new MacBook Air 15-inch along with a price drop to the 13-inch model as well. This means you can pick up these top-rated laptops for as little as £1,049.

If that sounds too much then there's also the older M1 MacBook Air which now starts from just £899 for students. Other deals include the MacBook Pro £1,249 and the Mac mini which starts from £539.

Those wanting a new iPad are also in luck with the iPad Air and iPad Pro both available with a big discount.

The offer of a free gift card is available from now until October 23 to current and newly accepted university students, as well as teachers and staff at all levels.
