Taylor Swift plays song for first time in a decade - but fans spot huge blunder

Taylor Swift delighted fans last night when she played her much-loved Speak Now hit Back To December for the first time in more than a decade - but some fans were not happy.

The American Anti-Hero singer, 33, is currently touring the US with her sold-out The Eras Tour. Last night Taylor played Denver, which came after the previous night also take to the stage in the Colorado city.

But for her second night in Denver, Taylor treated her thousands of loyal fans to two surprise songs. The first was Back to December, and the second was Starlight.

The latter is from her 2012 album Red, while the former is from her 2009 album Speak Now. And Back to December is widely believed to have been penned by Taylor with her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner in mind.

Just last weekend Taylor (Swift) reunited with Taylor (Lautner) when they joined forces to work on a music video for Speak Now (Taylor's Version). The Twilight actor even attended her gig in Kansas City on the day that Speak Now TV was released, and joined the singer on-stage.

Because of the Taylor squared reunion taking place last weekend, and how Taylor has now crooned the track thought to be about the Jacob Black actor, some fans are fuming over a key missing detail - or should we say person....

"BACK TO DECEMBER ON PIANO?????? WITHOUT TAYLOR LAUTNER AND ME?????? I SWEAR TO GOD IM DONE WITH TAYLOR SWIFT," joked one fan who seemed less than impressed. While another said: "The way she literally could’ve played Back to December when Taylor Lautner was there but here we are."

"Okay but not singing back to December when Taylor Lautner was there is kinda funny," added a third. A fourth person then fumed: "WHY DIDN’T SHE SING BACK TO DECEMBER IN KANSAS CITY WHEN TAYLOR LAUTNER (and me) WAS LITERALLY THERE?!?!?! GAHHHHH."

And a fifth said: "WHAT DID DENVER DO TO DESERVE BACK TO DECEMBER LIKE SHE SHOULDVE PLAYED IT IN MICHIGAN WHERE TAYLOR LAUTNER IS LITERALLY FROM IM SO SAD."

Taylor is known for singing two surprise songs each night while on her Eras Tour, with one played on acoustic guitar and the other on piano.

Dedicated fans have now worked out that by next summer when Taylor performs at Lyon in France on June 2, 2024, she would have used up all of her discography on surprise songs (and main set list tracks), and will therefore have to begin repeating hits for the remainder of the Europe leg of her tour, including the UK.

The fan penned: "With 102 songs remaining (and assuming no repeats), Taylor Swift is expected to RUN OUT of surprise songs AFTER the June 2nd, 2024 show at Lyon, France. —If you are attending one of the 37 shows currently scheduled after that show, you will very likely get a repeat song."
