The cast of EastEnders will find out the identity of the Christmas victim when it airs on TV.

The identity of the Christmas victim on EastEnders will be kept such a secret that even the cast won't find out who dies until the day it airs on screen, Rocky actor Brian Conley has teased.

There is a huge Christmas storyline this year, teased with a special flash forward scene. The scene, aired in February, showed the six women of Walford standing around a dead body. All we know is that it's a man, but not who he is and how he died.

The storyline will see Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki ( Balvinder Sopal ) all caught up in the shock death on Albert Square, as it ties their lives together forever.

Brian - who joined the soap in 2021 - recently said on Steph's Packed Lunch: "None of us have got a clue. I believe leading up to Christmas, there might be ten of us laying there so that it will be a big surprise to us as well. We're all going to maybe film a moment where we're all lying on the floor and then right up until the last minute, they can reveal on Christmas Day who it is."

Chris Clenshaw, the soap's executive producer, previously teased so many more clues will drop about the identity of the victim before all is revealed at Christmas.

"I’m not going to give anything away that the episode hasn’t already given, but what I will say is there were clues in there. Did you look closely?" he said back in February.

"I urge everyone to re-watch the scene and look at every detail. There’s also a few treats in the scene if you look hard enough."

He added: "What I’d also say is that a lot can happen in Walford between February and December – circumstances can change, relationships can change, loyalties can change – so what you may suspect now could be somewhat different as we make our way through 2023 and head towards Christmas."
