Emmerdale fans are convinced there is a shocking twist in store for Rhona when a second "villain" returns.

Faye, who conned her mother Mary out of thousands of pounds, will be back next week with some harrowing news for the family. The conwoman disappeared when her secret was found out, that she had been scamming her 'girlfriend' Mary and the whole village for money to support what turned out to be a fake charity.

She heads back to the Dales next week, with some big news for Mary. She wants them to get back together, but a wise Mary tells her to leave, and that is when Faye turns even nastier and attempts to blackmail her with a private photo. She warns her she must change her statement or the non-consensual nude picture will be sent to all her contacts.

Faye's return understandably shakes the whole family, including Rhona, who is desperately looking out for her mother. However, a second return of a 'villain' could be in store for her, according to fans. They believe there was a clue in Friday night's episode which hinted that another unsavoury character could be back with some shocking news for Rhona.

During last night's show, Rhona and Mary were visited by the police to tell them Faye had been arrested and charged. It was then that Rhona asked if they found her passport on Faye, with the policeman saying he had not.

Some fans of the ITV soap are now convinced that means that Gus, her ex, has taken her passport in a bid to get access to the embryos that the two of them had frozen years ago. Rhona had thought they'd been destroyed when the pair split but Gus had still been paying yearly for them and now he wants to use them with his new partner.

"Finally Rhona’s passport gets a mention! I thought they’d forgotten about it," one fan wrote, whilst another added: "Did Gus take something from Rhona's house, her passport? @emmerdale."

Actress Louise Jameson - who plays Mary - had previously opened up about the scamming storyline, and how she herself had been targeted by scammers for years and receives at least one unsolicited message each week.

"I will get an email, phone call or text at least once a week trying to tempt me into some scam. They could well be algorithms but there are ones that will say things like ‘I’ve got loads of money, can you give me your bank details so I can put it in there.' Then there are others like ‘Can you move all your money into this account so we can save your current account,' she told The Mirror.
