Janet Jackson 'contacts Madonna after illness to wish her well and end feud'
Janet Jackson has reportedly contacted Madonna to bury the hatchet and wish her a speedy recovery after the Material Girl suffered a serious health scare.
Last month, fans were shocked to learn Madonna’s own family and friends feared she was going to die when she contracted a bacterial infection.
While the 64-year-old star is said to be recovering from the medical scare, being hospitalised has impacted her upcoming Celebration World Tour which was due to kick off this weekend - and has now been pushed back to October.
Now reports have suggested that one of Madonna’s oldest chart rivals, 57-year-old Janet, has contacted her to urge her to get well soon.
A source told The Sun: “Janet heard Madonna was unwell so reached out. They haven’t always seen eye to eye but they respect each other as they are two of the last megastars from their generation of music.”

Reports of a rivalry between Madonna and Janet have rumbled for decades - even though the former dated the latter’s bother.
Janet’s sibling Jermain Jackson wrote about Madge’s fling with the late singer Michael Jackson - who died aged 50 in June 2009.
Writing in his memoir, titled You Are Not Alone: Michael: Through a Brother's Eyes, Jermaine claimed Madonna and Michale dated briefly in 1991 but the romance came to an abrupt end when: “they were at dinner one night and she had the temerity to criticize Janet.”
It is believed word then got back to Janet herself, sparking a feud between the two.
The two music giants have taken occasional swipes at each other over the intervening years, with Janet claiming her music has “more class” than Madonna’s.
While Janet’s infamous 2004 Super Bowl performance - where Justin Timberlake tore open her top mid performance, exposing one of her nipples - lead to a low blow from Madonna.
Ahead of her own Super Bowl performance in 2012, the star said: "You don't have to show nipples to be interesting. It doesn't necessarily mean you're cutting edge if you do, right?”
Earlier this month it was revealed that Madonna’s children, including her 26-year-old daughter Lourdes, staged an intervention to force her to scale back her ambitions for her tour.
The star’s children, which also include Rocco, 22; David, 17; Mercy, 17; and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere, are fearful the singer will suffer further injury if she continues rehearsing and performing like “she’s in her twenties”.

"It's a serious intervention and they're determined to see it all the way through.”
The Celebration World Tour is tipped to now begin in October when the European leg of the 84-date show will act as the starting point.
