Residents living near a Marmite factory claim they live in the "oddest-smelling town in the country."

The factory, which is located in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, has caused a lingering eggy smell since it first opened in 1902.

While some locals have grown accustomed to the unusual stench, others described it as "sickly" due to it being infused with beer.

The combination of Marmite and hops from local breweries has earned itself the name of the Burton Snatch.

Anne Shipton said outsiders often complain about the infamous smell, but to her, it feels like home.
