Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has admitted he has reached out to Paulo Dybala in a bid to try and get the Argentine to join him at Stamford Bridge.

New Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on bringing the former Juventus star to west London. Chelsea's new manager is a huge admirer of Dybala, as shown by the fact he tried desperately to land his signature while in charge of both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.

Italian media claim that Dybala, now of AS Roma, has a release clause in his contract that would mean he can leave for a fee of just €12million (£10m). This is a deal that could prove too tempting for Chelsea to ignore, even though they already have a number of wide-attacking options within their ranks.

Fernandez has faced comments over the speculation and provided his thoughts, as he conceded he hopes to see Dybala lining up alongside him in the blue of Chelsea next season.

Stamford Bridge's most expensive arrival told Argentine outlet Ole: "Yes, I saw something about that. We’ll see. I hope he comes. I talked to him and told him that I’m waiting for him to share a barbecue or something. I need someone to share the mates."

Fernandez is not the only member of the current Blues crop to have reached out to Dybala in an attempt to sway him in the direction of Stamford Bridge.

Veteran defender Thiago Silva has also contacted the attacker and admitted as such last weekend while at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

"I saw Paulo Dybala here, they [the media] talk about him coming to Chelsea," the Brazilian explained.

"I’ve talked with him and asked him if he is coming. He is a world-class player. I would love to play with him and it would be a massive signing. Let’s see."

Unfortunately for the pair of them, Dybala has already publicly confirmed he has no intention of leaving Roma this summer and is loving life under the guidance of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to LAROMA24, the 29-year-old said: "I’m motivated for pre-season, which we’re starting tomorrow [Monday]. My future? I’m happy at Roma. I’m staying here."

It may be hard to pry Dybala away from Roma given he only joined last summer and looked some way back to his best with 12 goals and six assists in 25 Serie A outings last time out.

While outgoings seem to be the priority for Pochettino this summer, he is keen on adding a new attacker to the fold given both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku are expected to leave.
