Renowned 25-year-old tennis player Naomi Osaka and her partner, rapper Cordae, have welcomed their first child, a new baby girl. The couple couldn't hide their happiness as they embarked on they shared the news.

Sports and hip-hop fans eagerly spread the word that Cordae declared on stage during one of his shows the news of their brand new arrival. They have both received an outpouring of love and well-wishes from fans worldwide.

People magazine confirmed the event in Los Angeles, California, assuring everyone that Osaka and Cordae remained in excellent health.

In January, Osaka revealed her pregnancy on Instagram with a heartfelt announcement and after admitted to simply wanting to be the best mother she could be.

"I would say for me, I just want to be the best version of myself," Osaka said. "Obviously, I've never been a mother before, so I'm taking it day by day and just trying to be someone that my son or daughter will be proud of."

Osaka has also passionately expressed her aspirations for personal growth, not just as a mother but also as an individual. She mentioned embracing the opportunity to become the best version of herself, while paying attention to each step of her evolution.

The 25-year-old tennis player has yet to disclose her baby's name, but she had mentioned before that they would choose a unique name. Although Osaka currently prioritises her role as a mother, she has assured her fans that she will return to the tennis court next year.

"2023 will be a year that'll be full of lessons for me, and I hope I'll see you guys at the start of the next one cause I'll be at Aus 2024. Love you all infinitely," Osaka said in the Instagram announcement post.

Osaka's big day comes as her tennis rivals are competing at Wimbledon. Osaka has kept her pregnancy journey mostly private, like her relationship with Cordae. Cordae, whose full name is Cordae Amari Dunston, has referred to their romance as "sacred" and believes that outside influences can detract from its purity.

Osaka has been missing from competitions since September, when she withdrew from the Australian Open. She has previously won the Australian Open twice and two US Open championships.

Osaka's dominance in tennis is undeniable, with an outstanding record of four Grand Slam singles titles. Her impressive achievements include clinching the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021 and emerging victorious in the US Open in 2018 and 2020.

Her superior performances have earned her the title of the highest-earning female athlete of 2022 by Forbes, with an impressive reported income of $51.1 million (£39.5m).
