Singers pelted with weird things on stage from Taylor Swift to Harry Styles
There's been an alarming surge of concert goers throwing things towards singers on stage in recent weeks.
The worrying trend has sparked concerns about the safety of entertainers when they are on tour, following a number of high-profile artists having made headlines recently. It's prompted warnings from other celebrities, like Adele, who urged fans against throwing anything towards her during a show in her Las Vegas residency earlier this month.
There have been incidents in the past involving items thrown on stage and we've taken a look at some of the recent worrying examples that from the last few weeks.
Bebe Rexha

She appeared to have bruising on her face following the incident last month (instagram.com/beberexha)Bebe Rexha, 33, was performing at the Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City on June 18 when she was struck in the face by a phone, which left the singer with some injuries. She was heading towards the front of the stage when the incident - which seemingly left her with a black eye and needing stitches - happened during a performance.
An individual was arrested and charged with assault, a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department previously confirmed to the Mirror. Bebe shared photos that showed her injuries, with a purple bruise having been visible around one of her eyes and gauze tape present across her accompanying eyebrow.

She assured fans she was doing okay and has since issued an update, in which she shared a more recent photo and wrote: "My eye black and blue now but much better!"
Ava Max

She wrote about the incident in a tweet at the time (Twitter/@SourceAvaMax)Ava Max, 29, was seemingly slapped during a concert in Los Angeles last month. She later addressed the incident, saying that the individual "scratched" in the inside of her eye. She tweeted: "He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He's never coming to a show again. Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!"
Footage from the incident has circulated on social media and, as with other performers, it prompted concern and well-wishes from the Sweet But Psycho singer's fans.
Drake
Drake continued one of his performances after a phone appeared to have been thrown towards him (Getty Images)Earlier this month, what appeared to be a phone was thrown towards rapper Drake, 36, whilst he performed at the United Center in Chicago as part of his It's All a Blur tour. The incident was caught on video and was shared on social media. It appeared to show the phone hitting him before landing on the floor, though he continued his performance.
Taylor Swift
There's also been headlines over an interaction between Taylor Swift and fans recently (natashalitle11/TikTok)

She appeared to duck out of the way at one point, in a video shared on TikTok by an attendee, and her security guards looked like they were trying to bat falling items away.
It's been suggested that it was bracelets thrown towards the singer, with the person who posted the video clarifying in a comment: "I didn't throw any bracelets at her".
Kelsea Ballerini

The singer-songwriter later told fans that "someone threw a bracelet [that] hit [her] in the eyes," with her adding: "It more so just scared me than hurt me."
She assured fans that she was "fine" following the incident, which led to her briefly going off-stage, and expressed hope that her shows can feel like "a safe place" for everyone.
Harry Styles

Footage from the Love on Tour concert showed him heading across the stage before seemingly being hit near his eye by an object that was flying through the air.
The singer-songwriter appeared to be in discomfort and was seen holding his face in his hands. The incident came after he was hit in the face by a bunch of flowers whilst at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff last month during a performance on the same tour.

Pink

It's been suggested that it contained someone's ashes and had been thrown by a fan (@AsAndrewSpeaks)Pink, 43, was performing at Summer Carnival Tour at Hyde Park, London, when she reportedly noticed a package beside her feet that had been thrown by a fan in the crowd. It's said to have contained ashes, with the performer asking someone in the crowd: "Is this your mom?" The musician then added: "I don't know how to feel about this".
Footage from the incident showed her placing the clear bag at the edge of the stage and then continuing to perform for the audience at the concert last month.
