FIFA 23 Level Up promo leaks and release date with new play-to-upgrade system
The Shapeshifters promo will exit FIFA 23 Ultimate Team later today, with a brand-new promo called Level Up replacing it in-game, not the anticipated FUTTIES event.
UPDATE: The FIFA 23 Level Up Team 1 squad has been confirmed.
FIFA 23 fans have been treated to one of the biggest and most exciting promos in FUT history for the last few weeks, with the Shapeshifters event including some of the best FUT cards we've seen, including a 99-rated Shapeshifter Icon Pele and goalkeeper outfield items. But, it must come to an end, with a never-seen-before promo set to take its place in FUT.
Level Up is next in the FUT 23 promo calendar, with EA Sports confirming the promo's arrival and how it works with a FUT loading screen. Ahead of the official release later today, a bunch of players set to feature has been leaked on social media.
The promo release has caught many by surprise, with popular FUT promo FUTTIES having followed the Shapeshifters promo in FIFA 22 and usually released in July. Here's everything we know about the upcoming promo, including the confirmed release date, card design, leaks, how it works and an update on FUTTIES.
FIFA 23 TOTW 14 squad confirmed featuring Lautaro Martinez and Dani OlmoFIFA 23 Level Up promo confirmed release date and card design
Via a FUT loading screen, EA uploaded an image of the card design with a countdown timer until the promo release. The arcade-like design is a real eye-pleaser, and the countdown confirms that Level Up will be released in FUT today at 6pm BST/ 1pm EDT/ 10am PDT.
FIFA 23 has been a fantastic year for card designs, with EA taking its designs to another level in FUT. And, the Level Up promo is a great example, with many people in the FUT community describing the Level Up card as one of the best in FUT history.
There's no information on how long the promo will be in FUT, but we expect it could be two weeks to allow time for the current FUT season to conclude. This means Level Up could exit FUT Packs on Friday, July 14 at 5.59 pm BST/ 12.59pm EDT/ 9.59am PDT.
FIFA 23 Level Up – how it works
According to a new FUT 23 loading screen, EA has confirmed how the new promo will work, with players able to 'level up' these special items by completing objectives in-game. Very similar to the FUT Ballers promo where players had to complete Objectives using a lower-rated version of the card to unlock a higher-rated version.
On the loading screen, EA has confirmed the inclusion of Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez in the promo to give an example of how Level Up will work. On the left is Fernandez's 92-rated Level Up card, and to get the 95-rated version, players must complete the "Level Up Your Game" Objective in FUT.
