The man behind Just Stop Oil is plotting to crash the justice system with a week of chaos starting this month.

Roger Hallam has called on activists to carry out slow marches in London for seven days – and defy any police attempts to stop them.

It came as the eco group blocked the capital’s Pride march on Saturday, urging the LGBTQ+ event to condemn new oil, gas and coal.

Activists sat in front of the festival’s Coca-Cola float, branding the firm “the world’s worst plastic polluter”.

Meanwhile, in a leaked battle cry speech, Mr Hallam claimed the week of slow marches – from July 16 to 23 – will act as a warm-up for October when he wants 3,000 activists arrested in a month to overwhelm police and the courts.

He warned of “all hell breaking loose”.

Just Stop Oil have been using slow march tactics to disrupt traffic since April – but have previously given up when police arrive. Mr Hallam, 57, said: “We know 3,000 arrests is the point when the judiciary and police start to crack.”

He claimed that when there were 1,800 arrests in two weeks in 2019, the Met discussed releasing people in a bid to avoid extra work.

It comes after protesters disrupted the Ashes at Lord’s on Wednesday and cricketer Jonny Bairstow carried one off the pitch.
