Keira Knightley came to Madonna's defence over awful 'ageing' comments
Keira Knightley once jumped to Madonna's defence after the singer received "ageist" comments about her Grammy Awards appearance.
Earlier this year, Madonna was a guest presenter at the annual event but trolls and viewers were focused on her looks.
Many questioned whether she underwent cosmetic surgery as she stood on the stage.
The Queen of Pop, who is currently hospitalised after developing a bacterial infection, later took to social media to slam the comments and said: "Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in.
“A world that refuses to celebrate women pass [sic] the age of 45 and feels the need to punish her if she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working, and adventurous.

Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira later discussed the ageist comments and said that it shows there is no "right" way for women to age.
"You’ve got Madonna on the one hand – and we’re told that’s not the right thing," she told Harper's Bazaar.
“Then you have someone else, where we’re told, ‘They looked better 20 years ago’. How are we, culturally, meant to age?”
She went on to speak about her own experiences, revealing: "A lot of the conversations I’ll have with my girlfriends are, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got a line [wrinkle]. Oh God!’
"Change is always tricky. We’re taught that it’s bad. We’re taught we don’t want grey hair."
Meanwhile, it was recently announced that the La Isla Bonita singer was hospitalised a few days ago.
Her failing health forced the singer to cancel her world tour as she focused on her recovery.
She developed a bacterial infection over the weekend which led to her spending time in an intensive care unit.
Her manager Guy Oseary, 50, shared the news on social media and revealed that her work commitments, including her upcoming Celebration tour, would need to be 'paused'.
