10 Tottenham stars 'up for sale' as Lloris to lead Postecoglou's clearout

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris is set to lead a summer exodus at Spurs as new manager Ange Postecoglou looks to overhaul his squad.

Australian boss Postecoglou, who led Celtic to a domestic treble in Scotland last season, looks poised to start his reign in ruthless fashion after the club's failure to land European football for the forthcoming season as he plans a mass clearout.

Lloris, 36, is set to be the most high-profile casualty despite having a year left on his contract. The French goalkeeper has spent 11 seasons at the club, but has undoubtedly struggled for form in the past 12 months and r etired from international football following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

But should the expected move materialise, Lloris will be far from the only player to head for the exit door. According to The Athletic, a defensive overhaul is also on the cards, with Joe Rodon and Sergio Reguilon, who have been on loan at Rennes and Atletico Madrid respectively, unlikely to return.

Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga are two more players set to leave, with midfielder Harry Winks likely to join them after his own underwhelming loan spell in Italy with Sampdoria. Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, the latter of whom arrived for a club record fee of £55.4 million in 2019, will also not return after temporary stints at Villarreal and Napoli respectively.

The future of teenager Alfie Devine, who has made just two first team appearances in two seasons, is also unclear, with Ivan Perisic also reportedly part of the proposed exodus. The Croatian international is now 34 and struggled to exert the same influence on the Premier League as he did previously in Serie A with Inter Milan.

Critically, though, one name missing from the potential exits is talisman Harry Kane. The striker's future has been the source of frenzied speculation, with Manchester United and Real Madrid both linked with a £100million bid.

Whilst Postecoglou will inevitably be determined to keep his star striker, doing so could come at a cost. The England captain's contract runs out next summer, meaning he could end up leaving for free in 12 months' time.

Son Heung-min is another key figure who now seems set to stay at Spurs for another year. The South Korean international has turned down an approach from Saudi Arabia, despite being offered wages in excess of £25million a year.
