Debbie Harry's intense beauty regime as she compares face lift to flu jab

Debbie Harry shared her secrets to looking young as she admitted having a facelift for “business reasons".

The Blondie frontwoman has been open about her anti-ageing treatments over the years, and even said having cosmetic surgery is similar to having a flu jab.

Debbie, 77, said getting older has been “hard” on her features, and the focus on her beauty throughout her music career has left her frustrated, so she’s had to maintain her looks as she gets older.

“I think it's the same as having a flu shot basically, another way of looking after yourself,” she wrote in her memoir Face It.

“If it makes you feel better and look better and work better, that's what it's all about,” she added.

“Getting older is hard on your looks. Like everybody else, I have good days and bad days and those, ‘S***, I hope nobody sees me today’ days,” she quipped.

But she’s been left saddened by suggestions her looks have had more interest than her music.

“It's sometimes made me wonder if I've ever accomplished anything beyond my image,” Debbie mused.

Back in 2009, the rocker said she had cosmetic surgery to “stay in the game”, and has no regrets because she did it for “business reasons”.

“Everybody knows that I've had plastic surgery. I did it for business reasons. You photograph better, and looks are a key part of being an entertainer, so I felt it was something I had to do,” Debbie explained.

Just a few months later, she reflected on having a facelift, and confessed she felt under pressure to cave into the pressure from today’s beauty standards.

“You start to think about the value of beauty as you're growing older. It's double-edged for sure,” she lamented.

Debbie formed Blondie with her then-boyfriend Chris Stein in the 1970s, and the punk rock band are set to take to the stage at Glastonbury this weekend.

Back in February, drummer Clem Burke accidentally confirmed they were performing at this year's festival during an interview on Foxy Radio.

“I guess it hasn’t really been announced, the full list of artists to be playing Glastonbury, but we are going to be playing Glastonbury, so maybe you got an exclusive there,” he said.
