Mason Mount's 'Devil Baby' stalker breaks silence after narrowly avoiding jail
A social media influencer who dubbed herself ‘Devil Baby’ has finally admitted her regret over her actions towards Chelsea stars including Mason Mount that almost landed her in jail.
Orla Melissa Sloan, 22, used 21 phone numbers to stalk the Chelsea midfielder for four months between June 19 and October 28 last year. She also stalked Mount’s team-mate Billy Gilmour and harassed Ben Chilwell on separate occasions.
Sloan demanded apologies from the Premier League stars for ignoring her messages after sleeping with Mount and was only just spared jail when sentenced at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
Instead, she has been handed a 12-week suspended jail sentence, a 30-day rehabilitation order, 200 hours of unpaid work, a total of £1100 in compensation to be paid to the Chelsea stars, £85 costs and a £154 victim surcharge.
Speaking for the first time since the decision, she has condemned her own actions and has warned of the consequences that others could face should they try and emulate her. Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Sloan said: “The online world is so removed from the real world.
Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rush“You don't have the same sense of perspective because you're just in your bedroom, on your phone. It doesn't feel the same but, in reality, people are watching what you're doing and it's affecting their lives.
“What I did was wrong. I regret sending all those messages, hurting those people [Mount, Chilwell and Gilmour] and their families.
“No one deserves that. Nobody wants to feel unsafe, like they're being threatened. There's a huge lack of control online. You wouldn't walk down a street naked in real life.
“There are measures in place to stop you. But, online, you might. It's very open. You feel you can do whatever you want.”
Sloan’s desperate attempts to contact Mount and his teammates stretched to her claiming she'd had an abortion after sleeping with Gilmour, whilst also threatening to unleash her ‘Devil Baby’ alter-ego. It worsened as she told Mount that she’d stopped buying food in an effort to buy more phone numbers to contact him.
In attempting to reason her shocking behaviour, Sloan has suggested that it was down to “loneliness” in the online world.
“I didn't see it coming,” she added. “I was very stuck in my own world.
"I didn't meet many people. I was quite lonely and being on OnlyFans just made me more lonely. It's only until it got to the point where I had to go to court, and potentially to prison, that I could see what I had done."
