Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter begged star to stop 'mortifying' her at school

Katherine Schwarzenegger has opened up on how her dad Arnold Schwarzenegger used to mortify her when she was at school.

Katherine, now 33 and married to Hollywood star Chris Pratt, 44, admitted her dad often embarrassed her as a kid despite him being one of the hottest properties in showbiz.

She revealed she longed for the day she would be able to blend in at school, and in particular on the school run.

The author recalled the exact moment she began to realise she was slightly "different" to other kids her age.

"I remember the only time really realising like, 'Okay, this is different,' because my dad would drop us off at school in a Hummer that had no windows, no doors and no roof, " she explained.

"And I was mortified," she continued while talking to The Nikki and Brie Show.

The mum-of-two added: "He would pull up to carpool and I was [like], 'Can you please drop me off down the street? Please, I’m so embarrassed. Can we please just take the minivan? Like, this is not my vibe. I just don’t like this at all.'"

However, she soon learned she could embrace her dad's actions and began to enjoy it when she started to notice how "cool" it was.

"Then as I got older, the boys in my grade became much more interested in my dad. That was the time where I was like, 'Okay, this is different for me.'"

Katherine is one of four kids Terminator star Arnold shares with ex-wife Maria Shriver. The pair are also parents to Christina, 31, Patrick, 29, and Christopher, 25.

Arnold is also dad to Joseph, also 25, after he had an affair with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena.

Joseph was largely kept out of the spotlight until recent years, with him now pursuing opportunities in the public eye - like having competed on Dancing with the Stars last year.

Arnold spoke about his son Joseph in his self-titled Netflix docuseries, saying during the third episode that he is a "fantastic man" and commenting: "He makes me feel proud".

He added: "It was wrong, what I did, but I don't want to make Joseph feel that he's not welcome in this world, because he's very much welcome in this world and I love him."
