Inspired Royal Ascot punter lands windfall after 150-1 and 100-1 winners
A lucky Royal Ascot punter has netted a tasty windfall after finding two winners at huge odds on Thursday.
The Betfair customer staked just £2 to place a £1 each way double on the horses running in the first and last races on Ladies’ Day.
His first pick, Valiant Force, was running in the opening Norfolk Stakes and he not only made the frame, he went on to win the contest event at a whopping 150-1.
Valiant Force was not only the longest-priced winner in the history of the two-year-old sprint, but he also returned the joint longest-priced winner ever at the royal meeting.
The punter needed his next bet to finish in the first four to collect any winnings but had to wait until 6.10pm to see the horse run.

Victory earned the punter an astronomical payout of £15,900 for the £2 bet.
Betfair spokesman, Barry Orr said: ‘’Two scintillating selections and on the same day that King Charles had his first Royal Ascot winner.
“There is something otherworldly about picking a 150-1 and 100-1 winners so he will be forever known to us, affectionately, as ‘Witch Punter’.
“Fortunately for him, he took 100-1 about Witch Hunter because that didn’t go unbacked and at an SP of 50-1 returned at half those odds.’’
