F1 legend 'bored to death' of Verstappen as world champion continues domination
Eddie Jordan has admitted he is “bored to death” of watching Max Verstappen dominate the Formula One season.
Verstappen has won six of the eight races so far this season and already looks well on course to reclaim the title he won last year. The two races not won by the Dutchman have gone to his Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez.
The 25-year-old matched Ayrton Senna's total of 41 Formula 1 wins with victory at the Canadian Grand Prix on the weekend. Having won the 2021 and 2022 titles, he is now joint fifth on the all-time list for race wins, behind only Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost.
That is some achievement for someone so young, but Jordan is not enjoying it. Speaking on the Formula For Success podcast, the F1 pundit explained his begrudging respect for Verstappen, while admitting it creates boredom.
“Max Verstappen will emerge over time to be the greatest driver of all time. He’s that good,” he said.

“I don’t like the last couple of races, I have to tell you. I’m bored to death with him. He’s just that good. He’s making it boring, more so than the Schumacher era.”
Schumacher claimed five straight Drivers' Championship between 2000 and 2004 in a period of utter dominance for Ferrari. Verstappen’s stranglehold on the sport does bear resemblance to Schumacher, with the Dutchman holding a 69-point lead at the top of the standings.

“Can we? Yes. Will we? Who knows? Because there’s so many variables in this game and we’re just taking things one race at a time.
“The team are doing an incredible job, Max is driving out of his skin as well at the moment, so just collectively the group are doing a tremendous job.”

Besides that, it has been nice to work with,” he said after winning at the Canadian Grand Prix. “It's not like there are any mysteries with the car and it is hard to find a direction. So that helps a lot every weekend.
"No concerns for the moment but other teams are pushing. They are bringing a lot of updates. This weekend Aston Martin made a step forward for sure.
"We are still ahead but have to keep working from our side but I don't need to say that. We know that and are working on it. Things are coming."
