Emmerdale's Leyla panics as she fights to keep truth hidden over Caleb's attack

Emmerdale have revealed Leyla Harding's secret after she was questioned by the police over the attack on Caleb Milligan that left him fighting for his life.

Leyla ( Roxy Shahidi ) is one of a handful of suspects after Caleb's (Will Ash) plot to take down Kim Tate (Claire Tate) was exposed.

Caleb finally got this comeuppance last week when a mystery figure attacked him and pushed the manipulator off the edge of a cliff before leaving him for dead.

Emmerdale aired the aftermath of the attack on Monday as Caleb recovered from the attack in hospital.

Cain Dingle ( Jeff Hordley ) was questioned by the police first before Leyla was quizzed on her whereabouts during the time the attack took place.

The police suspected Leyla's messy break-up with Caleb made her a prime suspect and her lack of alibi only worsened matters for her.

Leyla opened up to David

Leyla revealed no one was able to confirm her alibi but, it didn't take David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) long to realise she was hiding something.

Once the pair were alone, Leyla admitted she was keeping the truth from the police but insisted she didn't attack her ex-boyfriend.

The recovering drug addict revealed she hadn't been on a walk when Caleb was attacked but instead was driving to Hotten to buy cocaine.

David was disgusted with her as Emmerdale fans will know her drug habit almost cost Leyla her life and harmed those closest to her but she confirmed she changed her mind and didn't go through with the purchase.

Despite the truth helping to clear her name, Leyla insisted she didn't want to tell the police where she really was and insisted she felt too ashamed to come clean.

Is Leyla telling the truth or could she still be keeping something hidden from David and the police?

Emmerdale ended with a bombshell on Monday as Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was arrested but, he may not be the one to blame as more secrets unravel in upcoming episodes.
