Man who hit Bebe Rexha with a phone is arrested after singer injured on stage
A 27-year-old man has been arrested after throwing a phone at singer Bebe Rexha during her concert in New York City.
The 33-year-old had been performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Sunday night when she was struck in the face by the device.
The Meant To Be hitmaker was making her way to the front of the stage when the incident happened and she fell to her knees in pain, with her head down.
A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department confirmed to The Mirror that Nicolas Malvagna had been arrested and charged with assault.
"On Sunday, June 18, 2023 at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct.

She dropped to her knees in pain (Twitter/@captiv_8_)"A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage, striking her about the face.
"The individual was taken into custody on scene and removed to the 1st Precinct for arrest processing. The aided female was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition," they said in a statement.
The spokesperson added: "Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following individual has been arrested and charged on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 2254 hours within the confines of the 1 Precinct."

The singer is yet to address the incident (Instagram)The incident was caught on camera and shared on Twitter by another concert goer. In the clip, fans could be seen alerting security to the man who threw the phone.
He was then pulled out of the crowd and over the barrier, while Bebe Rexha was helped by members of the back-stage crew.
According to Twitter account Pop Base, the singer "had to get three stitches" after being hit in the head by the phone.
Bebe Rexha's fans took to social media to offer their well wishes to the star, with one person tweeting: "Poor girl, the person needs to go to jail for this."
Another said: "Why would they do this to Bebe Rexha of all people?" while a third person simply added: "Disrespectful."
