Spice Girls' Emma Bunton told to 'shut up' after awkward Sunday Brunch clash

The Spice Girls star Emma Bunton got put in her place after another guest on Channel 4 ’s Sunday Brunch told her to “shut up”.

The whole show had several chaotic moments throughout as host Tim Lovejoy, 55, began choking, sending him into an uncontrollable coughing fit live on air.

At one point chef Simon Rimmer, 60, who had been demonstrating how to make fish soup, was interrupted by a coughing Tim.

“You alright now?” said Simon

“No I’m not,” replied Tim.

It only abated when the cooking programme went to an ad break and the host was able to presumably get a drink to calm things down.

After blaming it on hayfever, he later joked that perhaps all the trees should be chopped down, prompting Simon to clarify this should not be taken seriously.

Also, around the table was Emma Bunton, 47, to talk about her new UK tour and Texas star Sharleen Spiteri who was there to chat about the band's greatest hits album ahead of their Glastonbury performance.

It was during this segment that Tim and Simon brought up the weather forecast for next weekend’s festival.

Revealing it was looking likely to rain, Sharleen grumbled she’d rather that not be the case.

However cheery Emma looked on the brighter side of things and admitted she loved to dance in the rain.

Sharleen didn’t see it that way though and snapped back telling Emma and the hosts to ‘shut up’.

She quipped: “You enjoying dancing in the rain from the side of the stage,” hinting that she would likely have backstage passes and be under cover rather than in quagmire with punters.
