Real Madrid have launched a new home kit for the upcoming season that blends their historic past with a new look.

The shirt features a nod to some iconic Madrid kits of yesteryear, with a return to the white, blue and gold colourway of old being the most striking component of the new strip. However, it seems to have a lot in common with the shirt of 2011/2012, as well as some other instantly recognisable shirts from the Madrid archives.

The kit also shares links with Madrid tops from 1998 as well as other notable jersey's throughout the club's illustrious history. Bringing the gold stripes back, a navy blue then compliments the kit by cuffing the sleeves and circling the neck

That season was branded by some newspapers as "La Liga de los Récords", which is Spanish for "The League of the Records" as Real Madrid smashed many long-standing La Liga records including amassing 100 points as they won their 32nd La Liga title.

The season is also synonymous with Cristiano Ronaldo becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals scored in Spanish league history. The Portuguese superstar also surpassed club legend Ferenc Puskás that campaign as he bagged an astonishing 101 goals in 92 games. Real Madrid also recorded the most goals in a league season with 121.

The new jersey will be worn for the first time during pre-season matches in the United States and Adidas say it "celebrates the union between the club and its fans throughout 121 years of history". It also features the phrase "Hala Madrid!" on the collar.

The new jersey will be worn for the first time during pre-season matches in the United States and ranges from £80-£130 for adults and £40-£55 for kids. It's available now and you can get it on Kitbag here.
