'Cheating' NFL star and knife-wielding wife shown in worrying bodycam footage
Former NFL star Earl Thomas engaged in a dramatic dispute with his ex wife after she allegedly caught the Super Bowl champion cheating at an Airbnb in 2020.
The incident - which went down on April 13 2020 - saw police approach a dramatic argument between Thomas and his then-wife Nina. Through footage recorded on a police bodycam that has now emerged, the couple can be seen shouting at one another while officers indicate that Thomas held a gun and Nina wielded a knife in the parking lot of an Airbnb in the player’s native Texas.
Thomas was allegedly caught cheating on his former wife after she found his location by using social media app Snapchat. The duo are seen standing either side of a white car as police approach before ordering them to drop their weapons and lie on the ground.
After an officer pointed his firearm at the couple and ordered them to drop their weapons, both Thomas and Nina lie face down on the ground. The former Seattle Seahawks ace can be heard saying: “This is my wife. She caught me cheating.”
According to police documents, Nina told officers at the scene that she found Thomas and his brother ’naked in bed with other women’. She also reportedly told police she had brought an unloaded gun to the scene and pointed it at Thomas’ head, declaring 'that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire'.

The footage also shows Nina being handcuffed and taken to the side of the car park for questioning, where she suggested how the scene had come about. She said: “My husband has been leaving, we've been having problems.
“He's been leaving off and on all weekend. And he said he was hanging with some buddies. And I didn't believe that, because we've had issues in the past. So I hacked his Snapchat and found his location here.
“I was calling, I was texting. And I didn't know which room it was, and then from pictures, I recognised the lights inside. And I just so happened to turn the handle and the door was open.”
Nina also claimed she and Thomas had been involved in a physical fracas during the altercation as they pushed and shoved one another. The 34-year-old - who won Super Bowl XLVIII - was lying topless on the ground and handcuffed, but not arrested.
Nina - who filed for divorce from Thomas in November 2020 - was arrested and charged with burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The case was dismissed in 2021.
Thomas was selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft and the former safety enjoyed a stellar career with seven Pro Bowl selections as well as three First-Team All-Pro nominations. He won the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, who Thomas spent nine years with before ending his career as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
