Man City fans go wild as they celebrate historic Champions League and treble win
Manchester City fans went wild as they celebrated winning the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
Rodri scored a stunner with 22 minutes to go to ensure Pep Guardiola's men defeated Inter Milan in Saturday night's final. Ederson then pulled off a series of miraculous saves to keep a clean sheet and see Ilkay Gundogan lift the famous trophy at the Ataturk Stadium.
That final whistle sent City fans into meltdown as they celebrated their famous win, with the players jumping the hoardings to party with them. Chants of 'We Are The Champions' rang out as fans celebrated both in the stadium and in pubs across Manchester.
Matchwinner Rodri was full of praise for both his team-mates and for the way Inter put up a stern challenge. He was the first City player to be interviewed after the final whistle and struggled to contain his emotions.
"I think we made history, but the good thing is that we want more. This group has more ambition, but this is a dream we have to enjoy because these moments never happen again. Of course we hope next year, it is so difficult, but we deserve to celebrate," he told BT Sport.

"What a team we faced. Unbelievable. The way they defend and the way they counter attack, they deserve lots of credit because they are a great team. But, I don’t want to forget about my lads. We gave everything.

Jack Grealish was left in tears as he celebrated City's win, with the winger hailing a dream come true. The England international labelled boss Guardiola a "genius" as he took in his side's momentous achievement.
"He’s just a genius, isn’t he? I just said to him then ‘I wanna thank you because you’ve made this happen for me.’ He put so much faith in me, buying me for a lot of money," he said of Guardiola.
Back in Manchester, supporters were also delighted (PA)"Even last year when I was playing crap he stayed there with me, spoke to me, and then this year he’s given me that platform to go and perform. I just said thank you to him. It’s what you work your whole life for, isn’t it? I’m just so happy, man.
"I played so dud today, honestly, I was awful, but I don’t care. To win the treble with this group of players is so special. Anyone that knows me knows how much of a family person I am and how much I love football and stuff.
"This is what I’ve worked for my whole life. You think back to all the people who have helped you along the way and just seeing my family there in the crowd makes me emotional."
The party started immediately with streamers showering celebrating fans (PA)City are only the second English team in history to win the treble, after Manchester United in 1999. And former United star Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for Guardiola's men, demanding statues be erected in their honour.
"Immortal. Statues galore. They’ve earned it. Listen, this team have played a brand of football that is looked at around the world and is admired. This has been a project and a process for many years now with Pep Guardiola coming in," he told BT Sport.

"But these players have produced some football that has been out of this world individually, but as a collective this team will go down in history. They deserve to. A fantastic team. They’ve dug deep when they’ve needed to and they’ve been able to play both sides of the game.
"That’s been the difference between this Manchester City team to past ones. They can pass, they can play the fairytale football, but when need be they can dig in, roll their sleeves up and fight through games as well. Balance is everything in this team."
