An urgent police hunt is underway to find a 21-year-old woman as two men have been arrested.

Chloe Mitchell, from Ballymena, Northern Ireland, has been missing for a week.

On Friday, police confirmed they were conducting a criminal investigation into her disappearance and were treating her as a “high-risk missing person”.

Chloe was last seen on CCTV in the early hours of Saturday 3 June, in Ballymena town centre.

She was last seen wearing a green and black The North Face-style jacket, a white t-shirt, leggings and Nike trainers.

Then this morning, a 34-year-old man was also arrested in the Ballymena area and remains in police custody.

In an update this afternoon, Mid and East Antrim District Commander, Superintendent Gillian Kearney said: "Police are becoming increasingly concerned about Chloe’s safety and we have launched a criminal investigation into her disappearance.

“It is completely out of character for her to not be in contact with her family, who are being supported by specialist officers during this worrying time.

“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling through the James Street area in Ballymena from 10pm on Friday, 2nd June and 5.40pm on Thursday, 8th June to think if they saw Chloe or anything unusual. I would also appeal for anyone with dash-cam footage during this period to bring it to police.

Ground teams searched the areas around the river but also close to a property near to Ms Mitchell’s last known whereabouts, which has been cordoned off by police.

Police were also knocking doors in the search areas around the river, asking residents if they were at home last Friday evening into Saturday morning and enquiring as to if they had CCTV at their property.

Community groups in Ballymena had also been carrying out searches for Ms Mitchell on Thursday, including the Harryville Residents Association and Ballykeel and District Community Association.
