Klopp revives interest in 'unhappy' Liverpool target after failed £86m transfer
Liverpool are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, who could finally be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.
Chiesa, 24, has attracted plenty of interest since starring for Italy at the delayed European Championships back in 2021 but a move away has failed to materialise.
After failing with an ambitious £86million bid for Chiesa's services shortly after Euro 2020, Liverpool moved on to other targets. However, it now appears as though the Reds and Jurgen Klopp are once again monitoring developments involving the forward amid speculation that Chiesa is unhappy in Turin.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, via Football Italia, Chiesa is open to moving on from the Allianz Arena as he does not feel as though he is a 'central figure' at the club. Unsurprisingly, that has alerted a host of European clubs who could firm up their interest in the coming weeks.
Liverpool are one of the clubs who are believed to still hold an interest in Chiesa, however, the report goes on to outline that Newcastle and Bayern Munich are actively interested, with the latter already sounding out the player's representatives.
Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rushJuventus' demand for Chiesa are likely to be significantly less than they were back in 2021, with a figure of around €35m (£30m) - €45m (£38.5m) now being touted by Italian media.
Klopp made it clear following last month's Premier League finale that he expected the club to be active in the transfer market this summer after a disappointing 2022/23 campaign.

The Reds have already made a fine start to their summer business with the capture of World Cup -winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, who joins the club from Brighton for an initial £45million.
Reacting to the news on Thursday, Klopp told Liverpool's website : "We are adding a very talented, very smart, very technically skilled boy to our squad and this is super news, really it is.
"I do not think the football world needs me to say too much about Alexis' qualities because they are already pretty well known but it is clear that he is someone who can play in a number of positions in the midfield and is an all-rounder, I would say. He is calm and composed and someone with proper game intelligence."
Liverpool are likely to target further signings in midfield, however, they are no longer set to pursue a deal for Chelsea maestro Mason Mount. The Reds were favourites to sign Mount as recently as a few weeks ago but the Blues academy graduate is now leaning towards a switch to Manchester United.
