Arnold Schwarzenegger apologises for groping women in his new Netflix documentary.

The Terminator actor, 75, has previously denied claims by 15 women who came forward to accuse Schwarzenegger of groping them over three decades.

And now he's finally admitted that his behaviour was "wrong" in new documentary Arnold that will be released on Wednesday, 20 years after the accusations first came to light.

When Schwarzenegger decided to run as a Republican for governor of California, the Los Angeles Times ran an investigative story on six women who came forward to accuse the actor turned politician of groping them.

One of the reporters on the story, Carla Hall, explains in the new documentary: "When Schwarzenegger announced he was running for governor, the staff of the LA Times immediately went into high gear to start looking into stories that we had heard for years, but no one had actually investigated them fully.

"We had barely six weeks to work on this, and we started talking to women."

The resulting story came out just before the election and the paper was accused of "holding" the story but Hall insists the story took that long to investigate.

At the time, Schwarzenegger said the story was false, admitting he "behaved badly sometimes" before saying he "never grabbed anyone" and accusing the media of "tearing" him down.

Now the actor finally admits his wrongdoing.

"My reaction in the beginning, I was kind of… defensive," Schwarzenegger says, as reported by Rolling Stone.

"Today, I can look at it and kind of say, it doesn’t really matter what time it is.

"If it’s the Muscle Beach days of forty years ago, or today, that this was wrong. It was bulls***. Forget all the excuses, it was wrong."

The story didn't have any effect on the election and in 2003 Schwarzenegger became governor of California.

The documentary also addresses the affair the actor had in 1996 - with his housekeeper - while he was still married to Maria Shriver.

The actor is set to "tell his own life story" in the three-part docuseries and Schwarzenegger will recall the moment Maria confronted him about the affair.

In 1996, Arnold had an affair with housekeeper Mildred Baena, who fell pregnant and welcomed a child nine months later, which happened to be just five days after Maria and Arnold's son Christopher was born.

At the time, nobody knew that Mildred's son was actually Arnold's child, or that Christopher was his half-brother.

But as Mildred's son Joseph grew up, she noticed that he looked a lot like the famous actor she had an affair with months prior to welcoming her son.

It wasn't until 2010 when Joseph was 13 that he learned who his biological dad was, which came when the media announced it.

Arnold has now spoken about the affair and how his "heart stopped" when Maria confronted him about the affair in a counselling session, as per US Sun.

"One day, the counsellor said, ‘Today Maria wants to be very specific about something. She wants to know if you’re the father of Joseph’.

“I thought my heart stopped. And then I told the truth," he says in the new three-parter.

He then went on to reveal how he was honest, admitted that Joseph was his son and that Maria was "obviously crushed by that".

Speaking about his son Joe in the docuseries, Arnold added: "In the beginning, I really didn’t know, but the older he got, the more it became clear to me.

"It was then just a matter of, ‘How do you keep this quiet?’."

Arnold then admits that the affair he had with the housekeeper was his biggest "failure", adding that he has "caused enough pain" for his family" and noting how "everyone had to suffer".

"Maria had to suffer, the kids had to suffer, Joseph, his mother, everyone. I'm going to have to live with that for the rest of my life," he added.

Following Arnold admitting to having an affair with their housekeeper, Maria filed for divorce from the bodybuilder after 25 years of marriage in 2011.

The couple were separated for almost a decade before their divorce was officially finalised in December 2021.
