Caicedo 'agrees personal terms' with Arsenal as Newcastle eye Tierney transfer
Arsenal are looking to significantly strengthen their squad this summer as they prepare for a renewed Premier League title bid and a return to the Champions League.
The Gunners finished second this year, their best showing since Arsene Wenger's departure, and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in six years. Manager Mikel Arteta is desperate to build on that success and the Gunners are expected to be very active in the transfer market.
Arsenal had one of the youngest squads in the Premier League this season and will be looking to add more depth and quality this summer. Here is all the latest news from the Emirates.
Arsenal 'agree terms' with Caicedo
Moises Caicedo has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal after Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi admitted he expects the midfielder to be on the move this summer.
Arsenal did attempt to sign Caicedo in January, with the Ecuador international even making a public plea for Brighton to let him leave. The Seagulls ultimately stood firm and he ended up remaining at the Amex.
Pep Guardiola went back on his word after blocking last-ditch Barcelona transferAnd according to a report from Ecuadorian outlet Teradeportes, Arsenal are the frontrunners to sign Caicedo and have already agreed terms with the 21-year-old. Newcastle 'confident' of signing Tierney
Kieran Tierney has fallen out of favour at Arsenal following the addition of Oleksandr Zinchenko last season.
Zinchenko was a mainstay for Arsenal at left-back, while 21 of Tierney's 27 Premier League appearances came off the bench. As a result, the Scotland international is expected to leave the Emirates this summer and has been linked with a host of different clubs.
According to The Times, Newcastle are feeling confident about their chances of signing the defender despite competition from Aston Villa. Newcastle can offer Tierney Champions League football and the Gunners are said to be asking for a fee of around £30m.
Gundogan's eye-watering demands
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is out of contract this summer and has been linked with several clubs.
The Athletic has previously reported that Arsenal have 'concrete interest' in signing Gundogan, with Arteta keen to work with the 32-year-old midfielder again. Barcelona and AC Milan have also held talks about signing him, but it appears as though the player is likely to remain at the Etihad.
Gundogan is demanding an eye-watering amount of money to leave City and the fact that no club has reached an agreement to sign him has increased the chances of him extending his contract.
